The MECHS PTSA will be holding the Executive Board election for 2023-2024 School Year at the Spring General Association Meeting on Wednesday, March 15 at 6:30pm. 

We have several unfilled positions, including:

Events Chair
Membership Chair
Arts Reflections Chair
Communications Chair

If you are interested in serving on the MECHS PTSA Executive board with a group of fun and dedicated parents, please review the role and duty descriptions for all positions at the link below and contact us (ptsamechs@gmail.com) with any questions or if you are interested in serving. Estimated Service hour is 2-4 hours per month including training and meeting attendance.

The Barbara Emerich Memorial Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications from qualified 2023 graduating seniors.  Barbara Emerich, a PTA volunteer and leader for more than 50 years, dedicated her time and talents in support of children, particularly in the areas of juvenile justice, gun control, teen health and special needs. Sixth District PTA created this scholarship to honor her exemplary service.

Two scholarships of $750.00 each are available to support students who are planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college.  Applicants must be current high school seniors, members of their high school PTA/PTSA and should have community service/volunteer experience with a non-profit organization or organizations that support advocacy, education, counseling, mentoring, and/or tutoring for children that has a positive impact on the lives of those children and, if possible, their families as well.

Applications for the Barbara Emerich Memorial Scholarship will be accepted electronically through THIS FORM and must be received no later than Friday, April 7, 2023. If any students are unable to submit electronically, please email for accommodations at programs@capta6.org.

Finalists may be contacted for a phone interview.  We will proudly announce the two recipients by letter.

We have gathered information from both the counselors at MECHS and Mission College. The counselors provided families with information on both high school and college graduation requirements, clubs, and health and wellness.

The PTSA has funds available to support requests from student clubs.  We can fund up to $50 for all approved requests.  Please keep in mind that all requests must be reviewed and approved by the PTSA Executive Board, which meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Please consider making a voluntary donation to the PTSA.  Funds that we raise are used to support our programs, including Reflections, Fall and Spring community events, as well as student clubs and graduation activities.  All donations are very much appreciated.  Your dollars make a difference!
